Handling parts, including traceability, is an important element of the maintenance process. There are platforms available that manage this and much more. However, they are not inexpensive and often not suitable for smaller maintenance organisations. Due to extended delivery times for parts, we ended up with some spare time to “pull the plug” and develop a system tailored to our own needs. Once we are comfortable with it, we may offer the system to other GA maintenance organisations.
There is a saying in Sweden: “Vill man ha något gjort får man göra det själv”, which roughly translates to “If you want something done, you’d better do it yourself.”
The logotype and colour scheme are similar to the SAMIONICS logo, blue and white, based on the colours of the Finnish flag. www.gaptis.com
