Here we removed the VAC system, mechanical gyros, King KT76A transponder, associated blind encoder, NAT intercom and some other parts. The existing Garmin GNC255A was re-wired so that we now use its internal 2-place intercom. Installation of dual Garmin G5 EFIS display with GAD29D ARINC interface and GAD13 OAT module, GTX335 ADS-B out transponder with internal built in GPS receiver. The Garmin Aera 660 installation was accomplished in accordance with EASA CS-STAN. Two compliance paths are available: installation as GNSS equipment, or installation as a mounting system to hold equipment. We elected to use the “mounting system” option. The alternative GNSS installation path requires the navigation database of a VFR navigator to be kept continuously current, which is not operationally necessary unless the equipment is intended for IFR use.
